Avatar Post Production Team Discusses the Process

DI and Editorial Team Illuminate the Path to a Blockbuster
On February 18th, 2010, at the Universal
Hilton, Createaspheres Entertainment Technology Exposition
(ETE) will present the key experts who helped bring the biggest
movie of all time to the screen and beyond, to share their
insights and experiences.
Dan Restuccio, West Coast Editor of POST Magazine, will moderate
the discussion and screening. The blue-ribbon panel includes
Joyce Cox, Visual Effects Producer (VES Nominee for "Avatar"),
John Refuoa, ACE, (Eddie nominated for "Avatar"),
Stephen Rivkin, ACE, (Eddie nominated for "Avatar"),
Christopher Marino, Visual Effects Editor and Skip Kimball,
DI Colorist, Modern VideoFilm. The panel will focus on a discussion
of the technical and creative process that brought "Avatar,"
arguably one of the most game-changing films of all time,
to the screen.
Kristin Petrovich-Kennedy, President of Createasphere comments,

I believe that anyone who has a vested interest in a creative
or technical career in content creation will be extremely
motivated to hear these experts and artists talk about their
experiences."
This not-to-be-missed panel will be accompanied by a 3D screening
of clips and making of materials. Registration for the event
is free until February 17th, 5 pm PST.
Createasphere ETE is a full day of conference offerings, educational
intensives and exhibitions. Other panels and presentations
include; Keeping Production in California: Building
an Influential Coalition To Save and Create Jobs and Business
Now, sponsored by Shoot Movies in California, founded
by cinematographer, Ed Gutentag. Panelists will include Amy
Lemisch, Executive Director of the California Film Commission,
and other local and state government officials, union leaders,
producers, studio staff and crew. Richard Verrier from the
Los Angeles Times will moderate the panel. Intensives (two
hour workshops) presented by Panasonic, Canon and Adobe
are also highlights of the day in addition to the wide array
of exhibits and demonstrations throughout the exhibit floor.
