for The Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation

Entries are being accepted for the HPA Judges
Award for Creativity and Innovation in Post Production. The
Creativity and Innovation Award was conceived to recognize
a significant contribution to the intensely creative, technology-fueled
and challenging environment that content creators, post production
facilities, experts and manufacturers operate in.
This award presents the post production community with an
opportunity to award a unique project, workflow, proprietary
technical development, hardware or software toolset, or creative
approach or achievement.
The Creativity and Innovation Award shines a spotlight on
companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence
in the application of innovation to the post production process
or to the post production industry through the use of new
approaches, tools, workflows and ideas that help enhance the
post production process from a technical, creative or efficiency
perspective.
Leon Silverman, president of the Hollywood Post Alliance comments,
“The Creativity and Innovation Award offers an opportunity
to reward innovative contributions and to honor individuals
and companies that continue to advance post production. Recognizing
new approaches, tools, workflows and ideas that enhance post
production from the technical, creative or efficiency perspective
is a key to HPA’s mission of building community and awareness
for the increasingly important and vital role that post production
plays in the content creation process.”
The submission period for The Judges Award for Creativity
and Innovation in Post Production is June 28, 2010 - July
19, 2010 and will be presented at the HPA Awards in November
in Los Angeles, CA.
This Award will be judged by a jury of industry peers which
will review submissions and select an honoree(s). The Creativity
and Innovation Award is a discretionary honor that does not
have to be given every year and will only be awarded to those
projects deemed to show excellence in creative and innovative
thinking or achievement.
Other prestigious honors presented at the HPA Awards will
be the Engineering Excellence Award which is bestowed upon
an individual, company or process that advances post production
technology; Charles S. Swartz Award for Outstanding Contribution
in the Field of Post Production.
The Hollywood Post Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing
a post production professional for his or her service and
commitment to the field of Post Production; and in craft categories,
Outstanding Color Grading using a DI process for feature film;
Outstanding Color Grading for television and commercials;
Outstanding Editing for features, television and commercials;
Outstanding Sound for features, television and commercials
and Outstanding Compositing for feature film, television and
commercial.
