Thomson becomes Technicolor - Shareholders approve restructuring plan
Shareholders of Thomson have approved all resolutions, including those pertaining to the Restructuring Plan made public by Thomson on 9 December 2009 - Thomson sought protection from the French government last year in an effort to fend off creditors it was unable to pay.
 
In addition, the shareholders approved the change of name of the Group to "Technicolor". As of Monday, February 1st, the Company will trade on NYSE Euronext Paris under the Technicolor symbol (TCH).
FilmLight Wins Four AMPAS Scientific and Technical Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Sci-Tech awards has recognized the achievements of ten of FilmLight's founding engineers in their three main product lines - Truelight, Baselight, and Northlight.
Colorfront Team wins Scientific & Engineering Academy AwardŽ for Development of Autodesk Lustre
Colofront's Mark Jaszberenyi, along with software engineers Gyula Priskin and Tamas Perlaki, met in high school where they studied advanced mathematics and have worked together for a decade.
 
They will receive the Academy Award for the design and development of the Lustre colour correction system.
RED buys Ren Mar Studios in Hollywood

At an event introducing the new Epic sensor, RED executives announced that the company had purchased Ren Mar Studios, on Cahuenga in Hollywood.

The name will be changed to RED Studios Hollywood.

Final Frame Post Helps Four Films Make the Grade for 2010 Sundance Film Festival

The films are competing in the feature documentary and NEXT categories and include:

The Pat Tillman Story, Joan Rivers - A Piece of Work, My Perestroika, and Bass Ackwards.
 
Will Cox, Final Frame Post co-founder and colorist, along with his talented team, conformed, graded and digitally color corrected the material on their Digital Vision Nucoda Film Master system.
 
Final Frame Post also provided the Digital Cinema Packaging (DCP) services for Howl, a Sundance dramatic entry.
Tom Johnson, Senior Producer has joined Rushes
Tom joins Rushes as Senior Producer from Grey where he gained experience dealing with large scale productions for global brands and record labels while independently producing smaller scale, live action and animation productions.
