Apple Updates Final Cut Studio with More Than 100 New Features
Apple announced a significant update to Final Cut Studio with more than 100 new features and new versions of Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Color and Compressor.
 
At $999, the new Final Cut Studio is $300 less than the previous release and is also available as an upgrade for just $299.
Civolution acquires Thomson STS Watermarking Business
Civolution announced that it has acquired the Software & Technology Solutions (STS) watermarking business from Thomson.
 
Thomson will become a shareholder in Civolution.

AKA Mastering Furniture - Equips Blue Pro Mastering Studios
AKA Design has recently completed the mastering furniture for the first of two mastering rooms at the North London based Blue Pro Mastering studios.
 
The new desk consists of angled racks with acoustic panels set in to the rear to give the desk both an ergonomic and stylish feel coupled with good acoustic practices.
Avid Announces Second Quarter 2009 Results
Avid reported revenues of $150.5 million for the three-month period ended June 30, 2009, compared to $222.9 million for the same period in 2008. The GAAP net loss for the quarter was $15.9 million, or $.43 per share, compared to a GAAP net loss of $10.4 million, or $.28 per share, in the second quarter of 2008.
