Sondor Launches New Tools for Film Collection Digitisation

March 9, 2010

Source: Sondor

Sondor announces the addition of advanced telecine controller functions to their A L T R A 16/35mm SD/HD/2K real-time film transfer machine.

O C E A N, a flexible controller designed by Marquise Technologies directly controls the A L T R A film transport and image sensor, providing one light, best light and scene by scene transfers with automatic or manual scene detection.

O C E A N provides various file formats such as DPX, TARGA or TIFF as well as SDI output (single HD stream and a secondary SD down converted for off line purposes). It also has conforming capabilities for more versatility (EDL or Final Cut Pro XML).

Being part of a complete range of finishing solutions, O C E A N is expandable with comprehensive advanced grading and restoration tools. Customers have the choice of adding controller panels from Tangent Devices.

"This is a very powerful package at a very attractive price" says Sondor's managing director Willy Hungerbuehler. "As you would expect from a Sondor machine, the A L T R A plays all existing soundtrack formats" he adds.

“We chose to work with SONDOR because we share the same values and interests: to provide our client with value added solutions he needs, and that only. SONDOR has a long-term reputation of seriousness and reliability, and we are proud to be their partner” says Laurence Stoll, CEO of Marquise Technologies.
